  Stairway House

109 North Broadway Street
Zaleski, Ohio 45622

Ever wonder why

a tiny town  in Appalachian Ohio

has a Polish name?

Read the history of Zaleski and Stairway House here.

Stairway House, built in 1907 around the stairway rescued decades earlier from Zaleski Castle, is a great place to gather the family or friends for holidays and vacations. You’ll be so near to so many things to do including hiking and swimming at Lake Hope, ghost hunting in the Moonville Tunnel, and exploring the back roads of scenic Vinton County. You’ll also be close to all Hocking Hills attractions. Travel the short distance to the county seat, McArthur, over a scenic road that traverses a beautifully reclaimed former strip mine. From McArthur, follow the “Quilt Barn Trail” for a new perspective of our Appalachian foothills. After your busy day, return to Stairway House, relax and ponder what life might have been like in the busy mining town of Zaleski a century and a half ago!
